Meet Our Pastor

Rev. Ayo Emmanuel Efodigbue, M.S.P.

Rev. Ayo Emmanuel Efodigbue, a Missionary Society of St. Paul Priest was born in Nigeria on October 2, 1963. Rev. Ayo received two years of Ignatian Spirituality Formation with philosophical and theological studies at the National Missionary Seminary of St. Paul in Abuja, Nigeria. During his formation years in the seminary from 1985 to 1994, Fr. Ayo earned a certificate in Spirituality in 1987, a Bachelor of Philosophy degree in 1990, and a Master of Theology degree in 1994. He was ordained a missionary priest on July 2, 1994.

He has worked in Ijebu-Ode, Osogbo dioceses in Nigeria, Gaborone diocese in Botswana, and Cape-Palmers diocese in Liberia.

He served at: St. Philip Neri Church in Houston-Galveston Archdiocese; St. Bartholomew Church in Yonkers, New York; St. Thomas More Church in Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and at St. Catherine of Sienna Church Donaldsonville, Louisiana. He is currently the pastor of Our Mother of Mercy, Ames, Texas and Sacred Heart Church, Raywood, Texas.

In addition to being a full time pastor, in May 2012, Rev. Ayo completed his Second Master’s Degree (Magna Cum Laude) in Pastoral Studies at Loyola University, New Orleans, Louisiana and is currently studying for his Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Charismatic Spirituality.

Rev. Ayo has conducted revivals and retreats in different parts of: Nigeria, Botswana, Liberia and England: Baltimore, Maryland; Flint, Beaumont, Houston, Galveston, and Orange, Texas; Thibodaux and Reserve in the Archdiocese of New Orleans, Louisiana; and Chicago, Illinois.
